Many residents look for ‘psychological richness’ rather than simply happiness or meaning, study finds

A growing number of senior living residents are looking for psychologically rich lives, not just happy or meaningful lives, according to a new study from the Mather Institute.

Mather collaborated with the University of Chicago to produce a recently released orange paper examining preferences related to “psychological richness” among residents of continuing care retirement / life plan communities, as well as the connection between psychological richness and wellness.
